Best Way to Burn Belly Fat and Get Rid of Love Handles

I don't know about you but I don't really care for the term love handles.  I have never found anything too lovely about them and I don't ever remember a time when my wife was thrilled about grabbing a hold of them.  Frankly, they are quite irritating. I would like to burn belly fat and would dearly love to see my "love handles" to become a distant memory.

The question that I was faced with was how to do this.  My first step was to find out what caused the fat in my body to somehow settle in this area.  If you look at most of my body you won't find a lot of fat, however, it is easy to tell when looking at my midsection that there is a little too much fat hanging around.  Others tell me it is not a problem but let's just say that the only time I am carrying a six pack is just after I have gone grocery shopping and I am headed to the car.  It was time to do something about it.

Insulin Resistance and Love Handles

I discovered that one of the big reason that I have extra fat that has settled in my midsection is due to the hormone insulin. Most of us are at least familiar with the name insulin. We know it has something to do with diabetes. What insulin actually does is move glucose (type of sugar) out of our blood stream and move it into the cells so that it can be used for energy. When someone has high blood sugar either one of two things have occurred. Either their pancreas has been damaged and is not producing enough insulin or their bodies have become insulin resistant.

This is much like the engine light being on in your car for three months or so. The first day it came on you noticed it right away. But every day that it is on you pay attention to it less and less. If you diet has been bad and you pancreas is in a constant state of secreting insulin you become resistant to the insulin. When you become insulin resistant you begin to store fat in areas that you don't want (as if there is ever a good place to store much fat). One of the places where this happens is in our favorite place: the love handles.

So what can we do to help overcome our insulin resistance and burn belly fat and get rid of the pesky love handles.

Exercises to Produce and Insulin Like Response

You can help your insulin resistance problem by performing specific exercises in certain ways. Some of the exercises that will help this are squats, lunges and any muti-joint exercises (compound exercises). Why do these exercises work?

When these exercises are performed in a specific way they produce something called Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF-1). The DNA structure of IGF-1 is very similar to that of insulin and it provides an insulin like response. This response will help you burn away the fat around your midsection.

The type of training that uses these exercises is known as Dynamic Training. You can put in hours and hours of your time in order to put together a Dynamic Training program or you can turn to someone who has already created a fantastic program that contains not only Dynamic Training but three other types of training that your body needs to rid yourself of fat held in other areas of your body. The program is called Final Phase Fat Loss and I highly recommend it.
