Great Bodyweight Exercises

We all are after that perfect exercise that will burn the calories and melt the fat from our bodies. We search high and low for the perfect exercise routine. However, many of the greatest exercises for burning calories, burning fat and losing weight are right under our noses. We have overlooked them. So let's take a look at the magnificent four.

Squats burn calories

It is hard to beat the plain squat as a calorie burning monster. Any time that you use major muscle groups in your body the calories burned begin to climb. Make sure when doing the squat that your feet are about shoulder width apart. Keep your weight on your heels as you descend. You will bend slightly at the waist but keep your head up and looking forward. Also, extend your arms out in front of you as you descend and move them back to your side as you rise.

Burpees Melt Fat

For my money, burpees are the single best exercise you can do to burn fat fast. Start in a standing position and do a squat but remain in the squated position. Place your hands on the ground in front of you and kick your feet out to a pushup position. Do a pushup and then kick your feet back to their previous postion. Finally, from a squating position, leap into the air as high as you can. That is one repetition. Perform the exercise in a fluid manner as seen in the video.

Squat Jumps - A Great Bodyweight Exercise

This is a simple but great bodyweight exercise for burning calories and losing weight. Simply do a squat as before but explode out of the squated position into a jump. Jump as high as you can.

Work these exercises into your workout routine or perform them as a circuit for great fat burning power.

Mountain Climber Promote Weight Loss

Get in a push up position and walk your feet up slightly so that you are in a slight jacknife position. Take a giant step forward with one leg so that your legs are staggered. To perform the exercise move simultaneously move your legs back and forth. Again see the video for instruction on proper form.

Thats a good mix of exercises! Each has a separate effect on the body. Squats being a muscle builder while the others have different levels of cardio intensity mixed in with it, explosviness also, good for developing fast, powerful muscles that burn calories.
