Most people are frustrated with their diet plans. Many have been dieting for as long as they can remember but they are still nowhere near their weight goals. It seems to be a never ending quest, almost a cruel game where victory is unattainable. This often leads to frustration and eventually a resignation that it won't work and then the pounds pile on even more.
For many of us dieting has been a roller coaster. How often have we gone on a diet, found it difficult, cheated on the diet, gained more weight, felt guilty and then started the process all over again.
Many of us repeat this cycle week after week, month after month, and year after year. The end result is that we hate dieting because "it doesn't work" or "it is too difficult."
I think that one of the reasons that dieting is so difficult on us is that many of these diets seem so long. If someone tells us that we need to eat a certain way for life, it seems overwhelming. Frankly, the foods offered on many diets aren't all that appealing. Even diets that are 12 weeks in length seem like an eternity. I mean that is 3 months. I start to falter after a month.
What is there was a program that was faster and naturally a bit more extreme? If the program was so short and intense there would have to be strict rules that would be followed.
You wouldn't be able to cheat. You would have to follow the program to the letter. But it would not be so bad since it doesn't last all that long.
You cannot miss any workouts. Can you buckle down for one month or so (about 24 exercise sessions) without missing a one. I bet you could if you were seeing great results.
You attention would have to be focused on the task at hand. You can't become so busy with other activities and hobbies in your life that you put off this most important life changing goal.
You would have to tell people what you were trying to accomplish. You see when we tell others we have built in accountability. They are going to ask you how things are going which is going to motivate you to stay focused and in the game.
Do you think you could do all of this? I bet you could. What if you could lose 10 - 20 pounds in only 28 days. To me it is much easier to run a sprint than it is to run a marathon.
