Secret That The Weight Loss Companies Don't Want You to Know

The fat loss and diet industry is a big money business. Billions of dollars are brought into the coffers of these "health and fitness" companies each and every year. You can't turn on your television or your radio without being bombarded by commercial after commercial about the latest fad product or new release DVD. The companies that take in these dollars and produce the products want you to believe that they are partners with you in your weight loss quest. However, what you need to realize is that they are in this to make money and it benefits them if you don't lose all the weight you need to. They want to see you keep coming back to buy more product.

Most Weight Loss Products are Hype

I will admit that there are a few decent products out there on the market that if the individual trying to lose weight actually applied themselves and followed the program they would burn fat and drop the weight they were hoping to lose. However, for most products out there the companies realize that the chances of you losing weight with their product are not too good. They are just hyped up marketing machines. That is why at the end of most health infomercials that they are forced to put a disclaimer on their product: Results are not typical. If the product was as good as they are hyping it to be then the results should be typical. At least, they portray it that way on their commercials.

Secret of Weight Loss Companies

The big secret that weight loss and diet companies don't want you to know is that their product might (in some cases) help you to drop a little weight but it will not keep that weight off of you. I am a huge proponent of exercise. I spend time doing it everyday and I believe it is a big component of every fat burning or weight loss program. However, the honest truth is that exercise is only a small piece of the puzzle when it comes to losing weight. By far, the biggest thing to conquer is your diet.

Biggest Factor in Weight Loss

The biggest factor behind you losing weight and being able to maintain that weight loss is what you eat. You must change your eating habits. I am not talking about drastically cutting your calories because low calorie diets are not the way to go. Your body is too smart and will begin to slow down your metabolism if it senses a large drop in calories. This will defeat the purpose of cutting the calories out.

What you need is a sensible program for eating right. You need to cut out the junk food out of your life and eat proper proportions of the right kind of food. I know that there are tons of diet information out there and it can be confusing. But you need to find something that is going to be easily maintained throughout your life. Too many diets on the market are too difficult to adhere to. I have found one plan that is fairly easy to follow. It is called the Zone Diet. Dr. Sears lays out an easily to follow road map of what our food intake should look like. And the best part is that it is easy to follow. I can eat normal food in the right proportions. Along with this and an normal exercise program I can be on my way to my desired weight. And the best part of it is I don't need to pay any more attention to the irritating weight loss infomercials.

I agree! I think diet pills do not really work on a long term basis. Exercise and diet is always the best. Just don't go overboard with the program or you might end up burning out.
